Atelier

Naast het huis heeft Ineke een ruim en licht atelier. Het is handig en specifiek voor het art-quilten ingericht. Grote tafels maken het mogelijk om allerlei composities uit te proberen. Er is een lange muur om de quilts in de stadia van hun ontstaan op te hangen, afstand van te nemen, zonodig te laten rusten of snel en geinspireerd stoffen toe te voegen. Soms lijkt het net een abstract schilderproces, maar dan met stoffen in plaats van verf. Vaak verft of beschildert ze de stoffen zelf om net de juiste kleur of precies het passend motief te krijgen. Vanzelfsprekend staan er langs de andere lange wand heel veel kratten met stoffen en andere materialen.

Tijdens de open atelierroute in 2006 en 2008 was het atelier net als dat van andere beeldende kunstenaars opengesteld voor het publiek.

Sinds september 2009 heeft Ineke ook een atelier in het kunstenaars- en expositiecentrum de Art-Farm (www.artfarm.nl).
Daar werkt ze meestal 3 à 4 dagen per week heel intensief. De wisselwerking met andere kunstenaars, schilders, beeldhouwers is heel inspirerend.

Beside the house Ineke has a spacious and light atelier. It’s arranged skilfully and specifically for art-quilting. Large tables make it possible to try out all kinds of compositions. Along a long wall there is room to hang and view the quilts in the stages of their creation. So it’s possible to take distance, to let them rest and ripe or to finish it adding a last piece of fabric. Making an art quilt this way resembles the creative process of an artist, finishing his painting with a last stroke of paint. Ineke also dyes the fabrics herself to get a fitting piece of colour. Naturally there is an extensive stock of fabrics etc in a hugue pile of crates along the other wall.

During the open atelier-route in her town in 2006 and 2008, her atelier has been selected to be opened for the public just like these of other artists and sculptors.
