Dit eeuwenoude landschapspark aan de rivier de Stour met in alle jaargetijden ongelooflijk veel schakeringen in de kleuren van bomen, struiken, veelkleurige bloemen, het meer en alle soorten lichtweerkaatsing, was de aanleiding voor deze compositie in stof, waarin de kleurlijnen de wijdsheid van het bloeiend landschap illustreren.

For ages Stourhead is an enchanted landscape garden at each season. The variety in colours is a spectacular kaleidoscope of green trees and shrubs, many coloured blooms, the lake and all-suffusing reflections of light. So I was inspired for this composition in fabric. The stripes of colour illustrate the wide-extended flowering landscape.
